More Than 1,000 Runners and Walkers Participate To Raise Money and Awareness for Georgians With Cancer
The Radiant Charity Corporation, a non-profit charity organization supported by Alpharetta, GA-based Radiant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: RADS), and Georgia Cancer Foundation (GCF) announced today that the fifth annual Sprint for Cancer @ Atlantic Station charity road race raised more than $100,000 for the Georgia Cancer Foundation. Last year’s Sprint for Cancer attracted approximately 550 runners and raised $65,000.
More than 1,000 runners and walkers participated in the 5K and 10K road races on April 29th at Atlantic Station on a beautiful spring day in Atlanta. Approximately 300 Atlanta-based Radiant employees combined with other volunteers and sponsors to produce the largest Sprint for Cancer ever, both in number of runners and money raised. Platinum sponsors included the Georgia Aquarium, Novare, and DLA Piper, with Gold sponsors of RBSLynk, Belkin, Epson, Microsoft and Smith, Gambrell and Russell, LLP.
“To say that this year’s event was an overwhelming success would be an understatement,” said Chris Lybeer, president of Radiant’s retail division and chair of GCF. “I am so proud of everyone at both Radiant and GCF who worked so hard to make this event a success. This is a wonderful example of a great partnership which benefits our community.”
“We’re just overwhelmed by the results of this year’s race,” said Rudy Morgan, Executive Director of GCF. “I want so say a big thank you to all the runners, sponsors, and volunteers. The money we raised yesterday will go directly towards assisting Georgians struggling with the impact of cancer in their lives.”
