Rudy MorganGeorgia Cancer Foundation Names New Executive Director

Non-Profit Veteran Rudy Morgan Tapped to Lead Statewide Foundation

Georgia Cancer Foundation (GCF)—a statewide 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to cancer education, early detection, and support—announced Monday the hiring of Rudy Morgan as their new Executive Director. Mr. Morgan comes to GCF with over 20 years of non-profit and health care industry leadership experience.

“I am honored to have been chosen and excited to help Georgia’s cancer patients,” said Mr. Morgan.

Mr. Morgan most recently served as Vice President of Donor Services for AlloSource in Centennial, Colorado—one of the nation’s largest non-profit providers of human bone and soft tissue materials for use in medical treatments and procedures.

Prior to AlloSource, Mr. Morgan worked at the University of California San Diego Medical Center as the Executive Director of their non-profit organ procurement organization.

Mr. Morgan replaces current Executive Director Brenda Horne, who is moving to a fundraising role for GCF as Director of Development. Ms. Horne played a major role in handpicking her successor during a rigorous, multi-stage interview process.

“This is a wonderful time for GCF, as we strive to better serve Georgia’s cancer community,” said Ms. Horne. “I stand behind Rudy 100 percent and look forward to focusing on fundraising.”

Chris Lybeer, Chairman of the Board for GCF, said Mr. Morgan will help The Foundation continue to positively influence Georgia’s cancer landscape.

“The needs are great in Georgia’s cancer community and GCF is committed to the sustained growth of our high quality programs,” said Mr. Lybeer. “We’re thrilled to have Rudy on board to lead us forward.”
