Pink on the Green Charity Golf Tournament
to Benefit Georgia Cancer FoundationThe Pink on the Green Charity Golf Tournament––presented by Dr. Freda McCarter of Precision Surgical Associates and scheduled for October 27 at the Fayetteville Golf Club––will benefit the Georgia Cancer Foundation (GCF), a Dunwoody-based statewide 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for cancer patients and their families through education, early detection and support.
“We’re thankful to be a part of the tournament,” said Rudy Morgan, Executive Director of GCF. “Georgia’s cancer patients can expect to benefit from this annual event for years to come.”
Proceeds from the inaugural tournament will be shared by GCF and it’s new partner, Sisters of Faith (SOF). Together, the two organizations will promote GCF’s low-cost mammogram program to Atlanta's medically underserved and low-income women currently in the fight of their lives against breast cancer. The program contracts with service providers to help these women receive the preventative care they need, but often cannot afford. It provides screening and diagnostic mammograms as well as breast ultrasounds to women who are unemployed, uninsured, or have a very high deductible.

Sisters of Faith: Breaking the Silence (SOF) is a breast cancer awareness organization founded by Glenda J. Black to address the crisis of breast cancer among African-American women. Inspired by her own battle with breast cancer, Mrs. Black has worked to develop programs and activities that focus on three key areas: awareness, prevention and support.
